OK, a bit more about Roderick MacKenzie:

I’m a Husband, Father, Christian, Traveler, Softball, Volleyball and Squash Player, Amateur Philosopher, Dog owner, Avid Reader, Businessman, Entrepreneur, Investor, Brother, Son and Friend.

I’ll go into a bit more about how my professional life unfolded in a minute…but first, I want to talk a bit about more important things…

I believe life’s about relationships. With God, spouse, family, and friends. Too often (and I’m no different) we focus our lives around our businesses or our jobs, letting our relationships, which are immensely more important, take a back seat.

If we look at our businesses and jobs as tools to help us improve our relationships rather than an end in themselves, we will be much closer to lives of true freedom. I’m working hard so I can provide for my family’s future…but more importantly so I can free my time.

I want to be the kind of dad who has the time to take
my little guy camping.  I want to make sure I don’t miss the big game. I want to be able to take an hour in the middle of the day and go for a swim, build a snowman, and have time for him when he knocks on my office door.

I want to be a husband who not just has the money to surprise my wife with a trip to Tahiti, but who has the freedom to drop everything and take her there.

Life’s about relationships.  Money is a tool that will help you enjoy life. Work not just to accumulate wealth, but so you can free yourself for the things that really matter.

OK, enough of my ramblings.  More about the professional life of Roderick MacKenzie…

There are thousands of stories online by entrepreneurs who tell how they went from rags to riches, or how they were able to leave their stressful job to work for themselves.

I suppose I should tell you mine…but I’m going to try to keep it brief and to the point.

I started my working life much like most of you who are reading this did…I went to university, got a professional degree, and started working right after I graduated.  I was a physiotherapist (phyical therapist) working in a government facility in Atlantic Canada.

Four years later I had reached the top of my pay scale, which definitely wasn’t going to let me retire early and still have enough money to enjoy life in the meantime, so I decided to find a niche and start my own business.  I got a few more letters behind my name… “Roderick MacKenzie, BScPT, C.Ped.(C)” …  and I opened my own pedorthic clinic.

I opened a few of them…until I realized that I was working a lot harder than before, but with more risk, less free time, and not much more more leverage than I had as an employee. It was an education.  I learned how to run a business, and that I loved being my own boss.

So I set out to find something where I could use a system to leverage my time and effort. Everything I read was pointing to the internet…so I spent two years researching and studying internet business and marketing.

What I needed was a company with:

1) A System  2) Comprehensive Training  3) Proven Leaders  4) Proven Results  and  5) Automation.

I found the company…an internet marketing community that had all of the above and more.  Though they train entrepreneurs for all sorts of businesses, they exclusively marketed a financial and investment education company.

Like everyone with an income…I needed the education re: finances and investing. I also needed a business.  That’s why you find me right here building this site today.

I have done a bit of business in other places online since, but the core of my business is still that same marketing training and the same financial and investment education program that I found after all of that research…

So I found the place I want to be and continue to study the internet business and marketing, finances, and investing strategies that are used by the ultra-wealthy as I work to join their ranks.

My mission is now to educate others about these same things…

It’s almost as liberating to learn enough to take control of your own finances and investments as it is to take control of your time and run your own business.

I will never go back to working for someone else.  Nor will I go back to the run-of-the-mill financial advice that keeps so many people tied to their paychecks.
