In The Millionaire Next Door, Thomas Stanley and William Danko describe the average American Millionaire…2/3 of them are self employed even though only 20% of the American workforce are self employed…and  3/4 of those ’self-employed’ millionaires are entrepreneurs who started their own businesses.

Entrepreneurship and The Easiest Way to Start Your Own Business

As of Mid 2009 there were about 1.67 Billion people using the internet around the world. (Wikipedia)  In America, approximately 66% of internet users have purchased online.  (Pew Internet Project)

If they aren’t purchasing by online shopping cart, they are researching products online and being pre-sold before they hit the stores.

And don’t think the rest of the world isn’t catching up with today’s technology.  More and more countries around the world are becoming dependent on the internet and other technologies like mobile communications,  in their daily lives.

So… on the internet we have a huge market of interested buyers for pretty much anything, virtually no overhead costs to do business, inexpensive ways to market and advertise, and the ability to automate almost everything in the marketing process.  An entrepreneur’s dream if they can learn to use it properly…and find the right strategies for starting your own business.

No true business options are faster, easier, or less expensive to get started than internet businesses…however, that doesn’t mean that you can’t build your business offline the old fashioned way either.  The key is to have a business of your own where you can leverage systems to get the best return on your time and money.

I’m talking about real, sustainable business.  Not the fly-by-night-pie-in-the-sky-get-rich-quick-starting-your-own-business stuff you see rehashed a hundred thousand ways online.

Remember this:

• You can not make money as an entrepreneur without working…if someone tells you that you can, walk away.
• It’s very rare for someone to start their own business from scratch and make six figures their first month.
• No product “sells itself” without effort.
• Not all entrepreneurs are created equal.  Some have more skills and abilities than others.

However:

• You can find systems that do A LOT of the work for you…in fact they are necessary for true success in any business.
• Many internet entrepreneurs are doing very well and replacing (some doubling and tripling or more) their offline incomes online.
• There are products and niches that make selling a lot easier…and some markets that will buy more readily than others.
• There are excellent step by step training systems available where you can develop the skills you need or hone the skills you already have when starting a business online.

These criteria are the ones I look for when starting your own business:

1. System - Systems that take as much of the human tendency to mess things up out of the equation as possible, automate as much as possible, and can be used online.
2. Training and Resources – Education and training and the resources to implement this training is a must.
3. Results – The business and it’s leaders must have integrity…and proven results.
4. Lifestyle – It’s no good to make lots of money if you can’t enjoy it.  For me, potential for an amazing lifestyle is the biggest part of the equation.

This is the only kind of business I will teach or recommend.

Other ‘bonus’ criteria are the ability to market your own business worldwide, the ability to work from home, high up-front commissions, and the ability to produce a residual income.

Especially in these uncertain times, people are desperate for a way to learn alternatives to the typical advice given by typical advisors in our broken financial system.
